Anthony Matthews, CMC #634

Anthony Matthews is a graduate of the Liverpool Polytechnic. Originally  trained as a microbiologist, he worked for several years in virus  research and topical medicine before moving to the United States. He  worked for 5 years as a Safety Engineer at the Brooklyn Navy Yard while  pursuing qualification as a Marine Chemist and eventually became  certified in 1981 and has now completed 44 years as a Marine Chemist servicing the NJ & NY area.

Stephen Gronda, CMC #659

Stephen Gronda  has worked in the maritime industry for more than forty  years. He worked for ten years as a chemist at Electric Boat/General  Dynamics where he obtained his license as a Marine Chemist in 1988. He  has provided chemist services and Shipyard Competent Person training  throughout the U.S., Caribbean, and Alaska. Mr. Gronda has a BS in  Chemistry from the University of Connecticut and an MS degree from Long  Island University.

Austin Montanti, CMC #727

Austin  Montanti is a graduate of the State University of New York – Maritime  College, who accelerated his career through the Professional Development  Program at NASSCO San Diego prior to beginning his Marine Chemist  apprenticeship. His experience in both vessel design, construction and  operation at a Tier 1 shipyard accentuates his ability to work with  clients to ensure that repairs are completed both safely and  efficiently.

Thomas Mahoney, CMC #748

  Thomas Mahoney is a SUNY Maritime graduate. After graduating SUNY Maritime he started his seagoing career working with the Military Sealift Command, Maersk Line, SeaRiver Maritime (ExxonMobil), & Crowley Maritime. He rose through the engineering ranks to become Chief Engineer, while gaining extensive experience in vessel operations. Following his sailing career, he transitioned ashore and earned his certification as a Marine Chemist, applying his  technical knowledge to ensure safe practices in shipboard and industrial environments. Thomas has been able to combine his experience as a Chief Engineer with his Marine Chemist certification to offer  a unique  skill set helping complete projects safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards.
